Madagscar Minerals 2008 News Update

Nov 08:

Sea Jasper (Orbicular Jasper) update. Production is back underway at NMG's original Sea Jasper claim from 2000 near Analava (Ambolobozo).

NMG explorers discovered a totally new Sea Jasper find in July 07, but kept this exciting discovery secret until now. The entire region has been secured and production is underway.
The new find exhibits the best of the best material ever seen. The "orbs" appear much smaller in this new material. NMG will not disclose the details of this location for security reasons. 2000's finds created a lot of excitement and with that interest came a host of security challenges. NMG is pleased to announce production in these two different regions. Photo below shows newly discovered exclusive NMG material.

Nov 08:

Optical Calcite
NMG is pleased to announce the discovery and acquisition of another new special material: Optical Calcite. The original claim was not found by NMG explorers. NMG explorers are working with the original mine owner to secure and develop a successful path to production, and exclusivity options. Although material is easily mined on location, the transport of material outside of the mine poses to be the real challenge. There are no access roads, and material is currently hand carried by knapsack, or on head, for 48 hours up and down treacherous mountain terrain. 60% of material carried out is lost along the way. NMG explorers have secured 40km2 around the original claim, and have verified material in NMG claimed areas.? It will take at least 1 year to finalize the size of the claim. Theft of material is another big concern, which led the original owner to partner up with NMG to help secure the area. NMG will be showing the material this coming January at the 2009 Madagascar Mineral's Gem Show, in Tucson AZ.

NMG is pleased to announce the discovery a new material - Blue Quartz. NMG's president Robert Grant said the color of the material is similar to a chalcedony called Blue Lace Agate, found in mainland Africa.
Grant added that this area will not be secured until after the sample material found demonstrates a commercial worth in the market. NMG will introduce the material this coming January at the 2009 Madagascar Mineral's Gem Show, in Tucson AZ.

Sept 08:

NMG is pleased to announce the discovery of Amazonite block material. Acquisition of the new find might prove to be a challenge, as the area falls on the edge of an environmentally protected area. NMG team is working with the local NGO in the region to attempt to re-evaluate the protected region, as this area falls on the edge, and likely was over-extended buffer area. Norcross is a committed partner in protecting the delicate Malagasy environment, but it in the process of protecting sensitive areas, huge buffer zones were created to insure threatened areas would actually be protected - immediately. It was intended that these buffer areas would be sized-down wherever needed, after verification, that they are not indeed part of the sensitive region. Further details of the area will be released only after the area is successfully acquired.
